Terms and Conditions

Last updated 23 August 2026

1. Who we are

Sugabi Medicare (Private) Limited (registration PV 00261546), Ragama, Sri Lanka ("Sugabi Medicare", "we", "us") provides online video consultations with a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist through https://consult.sugabimedicare.com. By booking a consultation you agree to these terms.

2. The service

A consultation is a private, one-to-one video call of up to 15 minutes with the consultant, at the appointment time you choose when booking. The fee is Rs 8,000, payable in Sri Lankan Rupees at the time of booking.

A video consultation is suitable for discussion, second opinions, review of reports and scans, and planning of further care. It is not a substitute for a physical examination, and no physical examination can take place. The consultant may advise that an in-person visit, investigation or referral is needed.

Consultations are not for emergencies. If you have severe pain, heavy bleeding, difficulty breathing, or any other urgent symptom, go to the nearest hospital emergency department or call 1990 (Suwa Seriya ambulance) immediately.

3. Booking and payment

When you choose a time, that slot is held for 15 minutes while you pay. If payment is not completed within 15 minutes the slot is released and you will need to choose a time again.

Your booking is confirmed only when payment is received. You will then receive a confirmation with a private consultation link by email and SMS.

Payments are processed by a licensed Sri Lankan payment gateway. We do not see or store your card details.

4. Rescheduling, cancellation and refunds

Fees are not refundable once paid. You may reschedule your consultation once, free of charge, by replying to your confirmation email or SMS before your appointment time. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy sets this out in full.

If we have to cancel a consultation (for example because the consultant is unavailable or a technical fault on our side prevents the call), we will offer you a new time or a full refund.

5. Your consultation link

Your consultation link is personal to you and works only for the booked appointment. Do not share it. Before joining you will be asked to test your camera and microphone and to confirm your consent to a remote consultation.

Please join a few minutes before your appointment. You will wait in a virtual waiting room until the consultant admits you. The room closes automatically at the end of the allotted time; the consultant may extend it once by five minutes at their discretion.

If you do not join within the appointment time, the consultation will be recorded as missed and the fee will not be refunded.

6. Your responsibilities

You must be 18 or over to book, or book with the consent and presence of a parent or guardian. You must provide accurate details, including your name, contact details and date of birth, and a truthful description of your reason for consulting.

You are responsible for having a suitable device, a private place to talk, and an internet connection good enough for video. We cannot refund consultations lost because of problems with your device or connection, but we will try to help you reconnect within the appointment time.

Consultations are not recorded by us, and you agree not to record them either.

7. Medical advice and limits of liability

The advice given during a consultation is based on the information you provide and what can reasonably be assessed by video. It is given by a registered medical practitioner exercising professional judgement, and you should follow any recommendation to seek in-person care.

Written second opinions, letters or reports that follow a consultation are prepared on the basis of that consultation and any reports you have uploaded.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Privacy

We handle your personal and health information in line with our Privacy Policy and the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022 of Sri Lanka.

9. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version published at https://consult.sugabimedicare.com/terms at the time of your booking applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka and the courts of Sri Lanka have exclusive jurisdiction.
